The Group

We are an international research team united by a shared commitment to understanding biodiversity, how it originates, how it is structured across space and time, and how it responds to environmental change. Our work spans terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, from mountain ranges and tropical forests to freshwater lakes and coral reefs. We take an interdisciplinary approach that bridges ecology, evolutionary biology, Earth history, and global change science. To address fundamental and applied questions, we combine biological monitoring, environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding, remote sensing, and field sampling, and analyse these data using statistical and process-based models.
