Research in the ELE group spans six interconnected axes dedicated to understanding and protecting biodiversity. The group uncovers the evolutionary and planetary processes behind life's origins, reconstructs historical dynamics through palaeoenvironmental records, and evaluates how land use shapes ecosystems. We also investigate marine community structures, assess biodiversity-related risks and services, and engineer cutting-edge technology to advance ecological monitoring at scale.
